MELVILLE, N.Y. – (April 8, 2010) – The Advance Group donated a 26 ft truck to transport collected women’s professional clothing for The Association of Real Estate Women’s Bottomless Closet Project. The Bottomless Closet project is a program run by Women in Need (WIN), a charitable fund and non-profit organization of the Association of Real Estate Women (AREW), established to help underprivileged women get ahead in the workforce. Vivian Aronica, The Advance Group’s Director of Business Development and AREW member, helped achieve great success for this project.

Over a period of one month, AREW promoted the event and collected the clothing, which was given to disadvantaged women enrolled in career boosting programs. The clothing drive is only one part of WIN, whose purpose is to enhance women’s professional development and confidence in order to succeed in the workplace. WIN also offers one-on-one assistance in resume preparation, interview techniques and an educational curriculum that emphasizes workplace skills and personal enrichment.

The Advance Group picked up from three locations, transporting over twenty 30 gallon bags full of professional and casual attire from Long Island to their final destination at the Pennsylvania Hotel NYC. The clothing will be sorted and placed in the Bottomless Closet Boutique until it is finally given away to women gearing up for interviews and job placements. Vivian Aronica is an active member of AREW and played an advantageous role in the Bottomless Closet Project during collection and transportation day.
